Wedding Inspo 101

As a full-time makeup artist, believe me when I say that I have been involved in enough wedding planning to last a lifetime! My travels have taken me to events across the GTA and afforded the pleasure of working with brides each one as unique and beautiful as their weddings.

When it comes to the big day, it’s always amazing how much a bride’s personality is reflected in all the details – big and small – that go into making a magical wedding.

From the gown, choice of flowers in the arrangements, menu options, and of course the venue – these seemingly separate particulars come together to make great weddings the unforgettable experiences that become lifelong memories long after the last song has played and loved ones have gone home.

While some brides prefer to go the more traditional route, others seek the excitement and originality of something different.

Despite having attended virtually every type of wedding conceivable – from intimate ceremonies held in rustic gardens to elaborate gala events hosted at some of Toronto’s most historic and distinguished buildings – the elegance and splendour of a recent wedding in Muskoka was something to behold.

For the occasion, Matt and Heidi, chose to eschew a conventional city wedding and opted for a breathtaking Moroccan inspired celebration set against the picturesque vistas of Muskoka – Ontario’s cottage country.

gorgeous bride on the wedding dayThe bride’s maids looked spectacular in warm peachy and jewel tones while Heidi stole the show with a modern blush shade gown fit for a princess.

Berber rugs, throw cushions and decorative eastern styled decor set the mood with Muskoka’s scenic natural beauty as the backdrop. Your wedding day is ultimately about you and the people who are present to witness your vows, but a thoughtful and unconventional location can go a long way to make your big day all the more magical.
